Pamela J. Hennig is a Senior Associate at Butler Pappas.

Pamela, who joined the firm in 2001, practices in the liability department. She specializes in general civil litigation defense with an emphasis in product liability. Her practice includes defending clients involved in multi-district litigation, mass torts, toxic torts and catastrophic injury cases that involve products such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, appliances, motors, machinery and heavy equipment.  She also defends design professionals in negligence, breach of contract and professional malpractice claims; and, defends clients in bodily injury and/or property damage claims involving automobile negligence, premises liability and construction defect claims.

Pamela received her Juris Doctorate degree, with honors, from the University of Miami School of Law in 1997. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1989. Pamela was a paralegal for a number of years before she attended law school.

Pamela is admitted to practice before all the state courts of Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She is a member of The Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute in which she is a member of the Product Liability Committee and Toxic Torts & Environmental Law Committee.

Extended Biography

Specializing in defending bodily injury and wrongful death claims, including catastrophic injuries such as brain damage and burns, involving products, such as aircraft components, appliances, automotive components, chemicals, engines, heavy equipment, machinery and pharmaceuticals, and defending product liability claims for property damage. 

Experience defending construction defect claims involving bodily injury, wrongful death and/or property damage, including large multi-party construction defect cases; defending trucking accident claims; and defending professional errors and omissions claims, mainly representing engineers/designers and land surveyors.  Additionally, I have experience in defending claims involving auto negligence and premises liability.

Handle all manner of day-to-day discovery including drafting and responding to interrogatories, drafting and responding to document production requests, writing, responding to and arguing discovery motions involving complex issues, many of which  relate to various products and their design and manufacturing processes.  I have also written and successfully argued for and against dispositive motions; taken and defended numerous depositions of parties, expert witnesses and fact witnesses; and, have participated in multiple mediations.
