Lawrence R. Drumm


Lawrence R. Drumm has 13 years of commercial litigation, bankruptcy and bankruptcy litigation, and general insolvency experience, including counseling clients and litigating coverage and liability issues in connection with bankrupt or insolvent entities. He has represented insurers, businesses, individuals, creditors, debtors, trustees, and assignees in a wide range of commercial and insolvency-related matters. Mr. Drumm has extensive appellate experience in both state and federal courts.

Among other matters, Mr. Drumm has prosecuted dealer and insurer-related claims and interests in the Chrysler and General Motors bankruptcies and in related state-court litigation; has successfully defended a chemical mixing company against multi-million dollar mechanics lien claims involving removal of hazardous materials; has collaborated on a successful recovery in multi-million-dollar construction litigation against a bankrupt contractor; and has successfully prosecuted multi-jurisdictional sanctions proceedings against real estate purchasers and their attorney for bankruptcy fraud and ethical violations.

Mr. Drumm is a member of the Illinois Bar, and has been admitted in the Northern District of Illinois. He has also been admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Mr. Drumm has been a member of the Federal Trial Bar since 2000.

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Drumm graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame in 1992 with a degree in Government and International Relations, with a concentration in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. He received his law degree in 1996 from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was a Charles Evans Hughes Scholar and a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. At Chicago-Kent, he was selected as Best Oralist in the Ilana Diamond Rovner moot court competition.
