Lauren D. Levy
Lauren D. Levy is a Partner with Butler Pappas, having joined the firm in December 2000. Ms. Levy received her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics, cum laude, from the University of Maryland at College Park.
Ms. Levy is licensed to practice before the Florida courts, the United States District Court, Northern, Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. She is a member of The Florida Bar, the Dade County Bar Association, Florida Defense Lawyers Association and the National Women's Political Caucus.
Ms. Levy specializes in civil litigation defense primarily in the areas of first and third party liability and coverage disputes. Ms. Levy has experience in several areas including products liability, toxic torts, premises liability, subrogation, personal injury and wrongful death matters.
Ms. Levy co-authored "Dismissal For Fraud: Courts Taking a Hard Stance" published in the Summer 2000 issue of Trial Advocate Quarterly. Ms. Levy also authored "Stretching Environmental Statutes to Include: Private Causes of Action and Extraterritorial Coverage: Can it be Done?" published in the Winter 1997 issue of the Journal of Environmental Law and Policy and has presented a Hazardous Waste Liability Proposal to the Fiji Mission of the United Nations.
